East Kalgoorlie Primary School (EKPS) is located in the eastern fringe of the City of Kalgoorlie-Boulder. EKPS remains a local intake school that educates students from the entire city with an average enrolment of 160 students, 94% of whom are Aboriginal.
EKPS is a small school that has a deep sense of belonging. The school has over 140 students enrolled from Kindergarten to Year 6. EKPS also have a strong focus on the pre-schooling year with their KindiLink Program working alongside the Wanslea, Spring into Learning program.
EKPS deliver a strong pastoral care program that not only supports and celebrates students diverse background but also ensures they engage with our community with a strength-based positive approach. EKPS aim to provide quality, evidence-based academic programs to ensure all students are given the best opportunity to reach their full potential. There is a large focus on improvement in reading, writing, mathematics and also they have a strong STEM focus. At EKPS they acknowledge & celebrate Aboriginal culture with students learning the Wangkaja language.
