Young people across Kalgoorlie‑Boulder are being invited to take centre stage, with registrations now open for the City of Kalgoorlie‑Boulder’s first‑ever Kal’s Got Talent.
Delivered as part of the City’s Youth Week WA 2026 celebrations, Kal’s Got Talent gives aspiring performers aged 12 to 25 the chance to showcase their skills in front of a live audience, connect with their community and compete for great prizes.
Mayor Glenn Wilson said Kal’s Got Talent was an exciting new addition to the City’s Youth Week program.
“There’s a lot of young talent in Kalgoorlie‑Boulder, and this event gives young people a chance to get up, build their confidence by having a go and share what they can do,” Mayor Wilson said.
“We’re really looking forward to seeing the range of performances on the night and having the community come along to support them.”
Youth Mayor Connor said the event reflects the Youth Council’s aim to create opportunities for young people and bring them together to support one another.
“Kal’s Got Talent is being run by young people, for young people,” Youth Mayor Connor said.
“It’s a chance to do something you’re passionate about, get involved locally and maybe even win a prize.”
“A lot of young people have something they enjoy doing but don’t always have a place to perform,” he said.
“This gives you that opportunity. You can come along, do your thing and be part of a night with other young people who are just as keen to get on stage.”
Participants can perform across a wide range of categories, including:
- Singing / Vocal
- Dance
- Instrumental
- Band or Group Performance
- Spoken Word / Poetry
- Comedy
- Cultural Performance
Entry is free, with registrations closing at 5pm on Monday 30 March.
Kal’s Got Talent will be held on Saturday 11 April, from 6pm to 8.30pm, at the Lord Forrest Precinct. The event is free and open to all ages.
The event is proudly supported by The Salvation Army and WAAC.
Youth Week WA 2026 runs from 10 to 16 April under the theme “Strength in Our Stories,” with the City hosting a range of events and activities throughout the week.
