Kalgoorlie-Boulder children are all set for the April School Holidays with the City announcing a full schedule of activities and events to keep everyone entertained.

Throughout the month of April, families with children under 12 can visit various City facilities to experience exciting and engaging activities including workshops, outdoor events, heritage tours, and aquatic inflatables.

The William Grundt Memorial Library will have a range of craft workshops on offer including, decorating parasols, customising your own journal, and making treasure boxes.

Families will be able to go on a discovery trail through Burt Street looking for clues whilst learning about the rich cultural history of Boulder. They can conclude their adventure with a crafting session at the Goldfields War Museum and have a chat with local historians.

The Goldfields Oasis will have free face painting and an easter egg hunt on the 8 April in the foyer area. Families can then stay to enjoy the aquatic inflatables (normal entry fees apply).

Inflatable sessions will also be held daily between the 8-24 April, featuring the popular Torpedo and Crazy Races inflatables.

Mayor John Bowler said the City was excited to provide these activities for families with primary school-aged children including the inaugural - Outback on Ice Pop-up Project.

“The feature event these holidays will be the ice- skating rink at the Oasis Playing Fields. There are sessions for the little ones, young people, and even adults-only sessions for the big kids to have a night out these holidays,” said Mayor Bowler.

“The City is proud to host many events throughout the year, providing residents in Kalgoorlie-Boulder with free or low-cost activities suitable for all ages.”

“Our aim is to provide opportunities for children to learn and have fun whilst fostering their creativity, imagination, and social skills."

“The City’s range of activities for the upcoming school holidays will provide an excellent opportunity for children and young people to learn new skills, engage with their community, and make lasting memories.”

"We want to make sure that children have memorable and enjoyable school holiday experiences, and this program has something for everyone.”

In addition to the schedule of activities for primary-aged children, the City will also offer a full program to celebrate Youth Week from 14-21 April.

Having been selected as the host city for the WA State Launch of Youth Week 2023, this year’s events will feature new and exciting experiences for young people aged 12-25.

The launch day will take place on Friday 14 April at Lord Forrest and Kingsbury Park, with the Minister for Youth and Youth Week WA 2023 Ambassadors attending the unveiling of the Youth Precinct Detailed Designs.
